Grand Delhi State Para Athletics Championship Held in Memory of Kumari Mamta Devi; VKDL NPA Advisory Chairman Advocate Vinay Kumar Dubey Honored-PNN

New Delhi [India], February 18: The three-day Third Delhi State Para Athletics Championship 2025–26 was inaugurated with great grandeur at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in the esteemed presence of Advocate Vinay Kumar Dubey, Chairman of the VKDL NPA Advisory Council and Member of the Hindi Advisory Committee, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

The dignified inaugural ceremony was graced by the distinguished presence of Advocate Vinay Kumar Dubey, Chairman of the VKDL NPA Advisory Council, Member of the Hindi Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Government of India), and eminent social worker and BJP leader. The event was further elevated by the inspiring presence of several other eminent guests, making the occasion even more prestigious.

The ceremony reached new heights of dignity with the participation of a galaxy of dignitaries, including Divesh Chandra Srivastava (IPS), Special Commissioner of Delhi Police; Prakash Singh, former Director General of BSF and Uttar Pradesh Police; Ravinder Indraj Singh, Cabinet Minister in the Delhi Government; Dr. Sandeep Marwah, renowned Indian film producer, director, and founder of Noida Film City and Marwah Studios; Ankit Singh (IPS), DCP Dwarka; Neeraj Basoya, MLA; Arunima, Senior Journalist and Editor (Home Affairs) at CNN-News18; and Satyababu, Director of the Paralympic Committee of India, and among many other distinguished guests. Their inspiring presence infused new enthusiasm among the athletes and attendees. Ms. Parul Singh, President of Delhi Para Sports, honored all the guests and expressed gratitude for their dignified participation.

In his address, Mr. Dubey praised the indomitable courage, resilience, and self-confidence of the para-athletes, stating, *“These athletes are not only champions on the field but symbols of inspiration in every sphere of life. Every child represents India and its future. They have proven that limitations exist not in the body, but in the mind.”* He congratulated the organizing committee, especially Ms. Parul Singh, for the successful execution of the event and extended his best wishes to all participants for a bright future. Remembering his beloved sister, Kumari Mamta Devi Dubey, he delivered an emotional and motivational message to the athletes.

On this occasion, Mr. Dubey reiterated his commitment, on behalf of the Kumari Mamta Devi Charitable Trust, to extend full support to para-athletes. He emphasized that the Trust aims to assist differently-abled athletes by providing training, essential resources, sports equipment, and encouragement to help them reach national and international platforms. He also expressed gratitude for the facilities and schemes introduced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister for the welfare of persons with disabilities and assured continued support in securing government assistance for differently-abled children and athletes.

In recognition of his continuous social service and dedication to society, the Divyang Para Sports Association of Delhi honored Mr. Dubey with a shawl and memento, presented by Special Commissioner of Delhi Police Shri Divesh Chandra Srivastava (IPS). Distinguished guests from both central and state levels appreciated his ongoing contributions and social initiatives.

It is noteworthy that the Kumari Mamta Devi Charitable Trust is actively engaged in public welfare activities across Maharashtra, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh, including education, healthcare, assistance to underprivileged families, and support for the marriage of economically disadvantaged girls. The Trust has earned widespread respect and trust for its consistent service toward the upliftment of marginalized sections of society.

Organized by the Divyang Para Sports Association of Delhi (DPSA Delhi), the three-day championship features participation from more than 1,000 para-athletes. The competition includes various track and field events across Under-12, Under-17 (Sub-Junior), Under-19 (Junior), and Senior categories.

Apart from leading the Kumari Mamta Devi Charitable Trust, Mr. Vinay Kumar Dubey is also the founder and patron of several philanthropic organizations, including the Brahman International Business Orientation(BIBO Foundation), Gyanodaya Seva Samiti, Brahman Ekta Manch Charitable Trust, KNS Group, and Kisan Kranti Morcha, all of which actively contribute to education, cow welfare, and healthcare services. He also serves as the National President of the Legal Cell of the Prime Minister’s Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan Sanghthan. Recently, his KNS organization provided employment opportunities to thousands of underprivileged and destitute women in Uttar Pradesh. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Dubey facilitated the safe return and continuous food arrangements for thousands of families in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, for which he was formally honored.

The state-level para athletics championship organized in memory of Kumari Mamta Devi Dubey showcased extraordinary enthusiasm, discipline, and determination among the participating athletes. With unwavering willpower and confidence, these athletes compete not merely for medals but for dignity, equality, and opportunity. Their efforts convey a powerful message toward building an inclusive and empowered India.
