Introducing Gathered: A limited-edition ceramics collection from Herman Miller and Heath Ceramics

A collaboration celebrating timeless design and shared principles through responsibly made home goods ZEELAND, Mich., Sept. 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Herman Miller and Heath Ceramics introduce Gathered, a limited-edition ceramics collection ranging from statement serving pieces to eye-catching dinnerware. Rooted in timeless design and responsible making, the collection is thoughtfully designed to serve beautifully for years to come.  Given the two brands' decades of design authority—each having redefined the relationship between craft and industry, tradition and innovation—it was critical the collection as a whole feel both innately Heath and distinctly Herman Miller, while simultaneously representing something new for each brand. "At Heath, we design by making—with our hands, with the clay, and through a process rooted in curiosity, integrity of material, and craft," says Rosalie Wild, Design Director at Heath Ceramics. "Collaborating with Herman Miller was an opportunity to celebrate our shared heritage of enduring design: American-made and deeply modern. We approached form and color with boldness and purpose, exploring tension and harmony through a refined, yet buoyant glaze palette. The result is a collection of unexpected beauty, bound to become a classic." The collection's color palette features tonal yellows, grounded in neutral tones and punctuated by secondary colors, as well as a tertiary zing of intense chartreuse. This idea—creating interest through friction or dissonance—has been a key part of Herman Miller color theory that has been applied to furniture and finishes from the midcentury on. The palette in this collection brings together colors from Heath's archive, plus two new glazes: Pesto and Blossom. The range of glazes and shapes highlights the versatility and natural beauty of Heath's signature California clay body, which has been in use since the company's founding in 1948. The diverse palette, featuring both matte and glossy glazes, has been selected to work in concert with another materials-driven product line—Herman Miller's newly introduced Land Dining and Storage Collection, designed by Stine Aas. The seven pieces in the Gathered collection include several from Heath's foundational Coupe line, which dates back to the 1940s. Other highlights include the iconic Studio Mug—an Edith Heath original from the 1950s—and the brand-new Dinner Bowl, inspired by rare discoveries from the Heath archive. Incorporating the best facets of both bowl and plate, this new piece accommodates just about any meal imaginable—and feels amazing in the hand, too. The collection can be purchased through Herman Miller's North American online store, Heath's online store, in all Heath showrooms, and select Herman Miller stores, while quantities are available.
