Rishabh Utkarsha Dudhedia, an Indian-born cinematographer, has been making strides in Hollywood with a series of diverse and ambitious projects. Recently completing his master’s degree in cinematography from the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, Mr. Dudhedia has drawn attention for his unique vision and versatility, which set each of his projects apart.
Rishabh’s latest work includes Treacherous Border, a feature film produced by Lion and Tiger Entertainment Productions. Shot in Texas along the USA-Mexico border, the film is based on a book that explores the lives and struggles of people who cross the border illegally. Dudhedia’s expertise in capturing complex narratives shines through in this project, which brought to light the challenging realities faced by those in search of a better life.
Adding to his accomplishments, he recently worked on his first Gujarati-language feature as director of photography. This project, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Neeraj Joshi and starring renowned actor Malhar Thakkar of Chelo Divas fame, holds a special significance—it is the first Gujarati film to be shot entirely in the United States. Filmed across Los Angeles, the movie captures the city’s landscapes through a fresh lens and is expected to reach theaters soon, making it a milestone for Gujarati cinema on the global stage.
With a growing list of projects lined up, Dudhedia continues to expand his creative horizons. “These successes have only fueled my passion to push my craft further,” he said. One of his anticipated upcoming projects is a documentary series titled This is Our City, which he is preparing to begin work on in the coming months.
As Dudhedia’s career progresses, his work remains a testament to his commitment to storytelling, creativity, and the power of cinema to bring diverse perspectives to audiences worldwide.
